The involved driver fled the scene after the accident, heading northbound
Victorville, CA. – A man was killed in a hit-and-run accident earlier this month in Victorville, according to the CHP.
The fatal accident happened around 1:44 a.m. on September 16, on the northbound Interstate 15 near the La Mesa/Nisqualli Road exit.
CHP said the first accident involved a semi tractor-trailer and a white pickup truck. The pickup truck rolled over onto its roof in the right lane while the semi leaked fuel into the traffic lanes following the impact.
Minutes later, 39-year-old Isaac Ismael Cortez, of Whittier, was struck by a vehicle in the northbound lanes of the interstate.
The involved driver fled the scene after the accident, heading northbound.
Cortez was pronounced dead at the scene.
