Salem, OR – The bicyclist who was killed on Sunday in an accident in Salem has been identified as Andrew Hillier, 45, of Salem, according to the authorities.
The deadly accident happened around 7:59 p.m. on September 21 on Dr MLK Jr Parkway near Broadway Street NE.
Authorities said Hillier was riding a bicycle southbound on the sidewalk when he entered the roadway and was struck by a southbound vehicle driven by Jonathan Jimenez-Osorio, 19, of Independence.
Jimenez-Osorio stopped, called 911 and attempted to provide aid to Hillier.
Hillier died at the scene.
Jimenez-Osorio remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The Salem Police Traffic Team is investigating the accident.
