Tillamook, OR – A pedestrian died following an auto-pedestrian crash in Tillamook County on Tuesday morning, according to the Oregon State Police.

The accident happened at around 8:25 a.m. September 6, on Highway 6 near milepost 30.

OSP said Scott Lee Gotchall, 64, of Portland, was driving a white Freightliner semi-truck eastbound on Highway 6 when a pedestrian, identified as Jaime Cristobal Aguilar Herrera, 25, of Beaverton, stepped into the lane of travel and was hit by the semi-truck.

Jaime Herrera was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Gotchall was not injured.

The highway was shut down for about three and a half hours as OPS conducted the investigation, which was assisted by the Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office, Tillamook Fire, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
