The Adelanto Police Department responded to the crash at Bellflower Street and Palmdale Road at around 7:07 p.m. on February 25.
Adelanto, CA – The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office has identified a pedestrian killed in a Tuesday evening crash at an intersection in Adelanto as 60-year-old Paul J. Ceniceros, of Adelanto.
The Adelanto Police Department responded to the crash at Bellflower Street and Palmdale Road at around 7:07 p.m. on February 25.
Ceniceros was initially struck by a full-size pickup truck traveling west. The driver, unaware they had hit a pedestrian, turned around and returned to the scene.
Upon realizing the situation, the driver tried to stop traffic from further collisions by positioning their vehicle in the roadway to protect Ceniceros.
Despite the efforts, several other vehicles struck the pedestrian, and none of the drivers involved stopped or returned to the scene.
Ceniceros was declared dead at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
