Long Beach, CA – A man was killed in a Thursday evening pedestrian crash on Atherton Street in Long Beach.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the incident happened at around 7:10 p.m. on Atherton Street and Ashbrook Avenue.

The pedestrian was walking southbound in an unmarked crosswalk when he was struck by an eastbound 2012 Honda Crosstour on Atherton Street driven by a 21-year-old Los Angeles resident.

Paramedics rushed the man to the hospital, where he later died.

The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.

The driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officers.
