Alpine, CA – The San Diego County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the rider killed in a crash on Japatul Road in Alpine Saturday morning as 55-year-old Enrique Monroy.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the accident happened on Japatul Road near Arabian Avenue at around 11:05 a.m. January 11.
Monroy was driving a Honda motorcycle westbound behind a Honda sedan on Japatul Road. At some point, the sedan slowed for a left turn manoeuvre into the driveway of their residence when the motorcycle apparently tried to pass on the sedan’s left colliding with the sedan and the decedent being ejected onto the roadway.
Monroy was declared deceased at the scene.
The incident is being investigated.
