Coachella, Calif. – Six people were injured, 2 seriously, in a traffic collision that happened Sunday afternoon at an intersection near Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport, south of Coachella, police said.

The collision occurred around 4:39 p.m. on Airport Boulevard at Harrison Street.

Two people suffered serious injuries, and four others sustained minor injuries. All the patients were taken to the hospital for treatment, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Details about the cause of the collision were not available.

Officers are investigating the crash.
