Casey Rivara Killed in Rocklin Collision on Stanford Ranch Road

Rocklin, California (May 23, 2023) – The man who was fatally hit by a vehicle while assisting a family of ducks cross a road in Rocklin Thursday night has been identified as Casey Rivara.

According to authorities, the wreck happened on Stanford Ranch Road at Park Drive shortly after 8 p.m. May 18.

Rivara was driving when he pulled over to help the ducks cross the road and was hit by another vehicle.

Authorities said Rivara was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver who struck him stayed at the scene.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Saghir Ahjaz Among 3 Killed in Stockton Collision on Highway 26

Stockton, California (May 17, 2023) – Saghir Ahjaz was among three people who died in a traffic collision last week on Wednesday east of Stockton, according to the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The collision occurred on Highway 26 near North Alpine Road at around 10:51 a.m. May 10.

The California Highway Patrol said a silver Infiniti and a white Ford F-250 were involved in the incident.

Ahjaz was in one of the vehicles and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two other parties involved in the collision, Benino Nava, 71, and Donna Nava, 68, both of Valley Springs, were pronounced deceased at San Joaquin General Hospital.

Authorities are working to determine the cause of the incident.

One Killed in Bakersfield Car Crash on McCutchen Road 

Bakersfield, California (May 13, 2023) – A girl was killed in a collision at an intersection in southwest Bakersfield on Friday afternoon, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

The incident took place at McCutchen Road and Mountain Ridge Drive at around 4:19 p.m. May 12.

A vehicle was traveling westbound on McCutchen Road when it failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Mountain Ridge Drive.

A girl in the second vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

A boy in that vehicle and the female driver were taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.

The woman driving the westbound vehicle was treated for minor injuries.

Alcohol, drugs or speed were not suspected to be factors in the collision.

The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating the incident.

Teen Injured in Stockton Accident on Thornton Road 

Stockton, California (May 12, 2023) – A teen was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle in Stockton on Thursday afternoon, according to the Stockton Police Department.

The wreck happened at around 1 p.m. May 11, in the area of Thornton Road near Wagner Heights Road.

A teen was reportedly hit by a box truck under unclear circumstances.

The teen was rushed to a hospital with major injuries.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene after the accident.

Roads were blocked in the area as police investigated the incident.

The cause of the collision remained under investigation.

Kathryn Daher Hurt in Deadly Blythe Collision on State Route 95

Blythe, California (May 12, 2023) – Kathryn Daher, 42, of Palm Desert, was airlifted after a deadly collision between two vehicles near Blythe in Riverside County on Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at around 8 a.m. May 10, on State Route 95 near Sixth Avenue.

A 2002 Subaru Forester was reportedly traveling south on SR 95 when it drifted across the centerline and collided with the left rear of a northbound 2012 Jeep Wrangler.

The impact caused both vehicles to flip multiple times.

The driver of the Subaru, Travis Hunt, 24, of Desert Hot Springs, was ejected in the incident. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Daher was a passenger in the Subaru and was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

The Jeep’s driver, Dianna Clinton, 66, of Blythe, was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The CHP is investigating the incident.
