At around 9:23 p.m. May 18, authorities were called to the scene of a collision in the 2600 block of North Colusa Frontage Road.
Yuba City, CA – A 69-year-old woman died after being hit by a vehicle and thrown into a ditch in Yuba City on Monday night, according to the Yuba City Police Department.
At around 9:23 p.m. May 18, authorities were called to the scene of a collision in the 2600 block of North Colusa Frontage Road.
Police reported that Balwinder Kaur, 69, of Yuba City, was using a walker when she was hit by an SUV on the North Colusa Frontage Road.
The impact threw Kaur nearly 50 feet from the point of the collision and she landed in a ditch
Emergency crews performed life-saving measures on Kaur, before transporting her to a hospital. Despite efforts by the medics, Kaur later died of her injuries at the hospital.
According to Yuba City police, the involved driver stayed at the scene and was cooperative with the investigators.
Impairment or speed were not believed to have played any role in the collision and no arrests were made.
