Motorcyclist Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision on South Tacoma Way in Tacoma

Tacoma, WA – A motorcyclist died in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Saturday evening in South Tacoma, the Tacoma Police Department reported.

Police officers responded to the 6400 block of South Tacoma Way near 62nd Avenue after receiving reports of the crash on May 23.

The officers talked to witnesses at the scene and established that the motorcyclist was traveling behind a car when that vehicle slowed down. The man on the motorcycle, however, did not slow down in time and ended up rear-ending the car. The man fell off his bike after the impact and was run over by another vehicle.

Authorities said the rider died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Both car drivers stopped and remained at the scene after the collision.

Investigators closed South Tacoma Way between 62nd Avenue and 66th Avenue as they worked the scene.
