Rancho Mirage, CA – A woman was killed following a suspected DUI hit-and-run collision at an intersection in Rancho Mirage Saturday morning, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The fatal crash occurred at about 8:09 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Dinah Shore Drive and George Montgomery Way.
Preliminary investigation findings indicate that two vehicles were involved in the collision. Deputies arriving at the scene found one of the drivers, later identified as Teresa Bowlin, a 57-year-old resident of Cathedral City, severely injured. Bowlin was pronounced dead at the scene at about 8:24 a.m.
Authorities said the other driver fled the scene following the crash. Deputies later located the fleeing driver, identified as 23-year-old Tyler Conant of Long Beach, and took him into custody without incident.
Investigators determined that Conant was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. He was later booked into the John Benoit Detention Center on suspicion of murder and felony hit-and-run.
Deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station and members of the Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and conducted the on-scene investigation.
The collision caused traffic disruptions in the area around Dinah Shore Drive and George Montgomery Way while authorities investigated the fatal crash.
