Gustine, CA – Five people were injured, including at least one person who sustained major injuries, following a two-vehicle collision on State Route 152 near Gustine Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:47 a.m. on westbound State Route 152 near Rock Bridge and the Romero Visitor Center area.
Authorities said a black Toyota and a Chevrolet Tahoe were involved in the collision. CHP logs stated that one of the vehicles was blocking lanes following the crash, while debris was scattered in the roadway.
Authorities reported that five patients were involved in the Gustine crash. At least one person suffered major injuries and was transported for medical treatment. CHP later indicated that two people were confirmed to have been taken from the scene, while additional patients may have been transported in separate vehicles. No arrests were reported.
CHP officers, AMR personnel, Cal Fire crews, and other emergency responders arrived at the scene to assist victims and manage traffic conditions.
CHP urged motorists to “slow down, avoid distractions and make sure to buckle-up” as multiple vehicles blocked lanes near the Romero Visitor Center. One lane reopened at approximately 10:41 a.m., and all lanes were fully reopened by about 10:59 a.m.
The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
