Zachary Bacis Among 2 Hurt in Sonora Car Crash on Highway 108 Bypass near Peaceful Oak Road

Sonora, California (March 1, 2022) – 29-year-old Zachary Bacis was among two motorists hurt in a head-on collision in East Sonora on Friday evening, the California Highway Patrol said.

The two vehicle collision happened on Highway 108 Bypass near Peaceful Oak Road at about 5:15 p.m. February 25.

CHP said a 2012 Ford Explorer was traveling east on the highway when the driver swerved to the south shoulder of the highway.

The driver then overcorrected and drifted into the oncoming lanes, colliding head-on with a westbound Affordable Tow Truck pulling a vehicle.

Zachary Bacis Injured in Sonora Collision on Highway 108 Bypass 

Bacis was treated at the scene after suffering pain to his left arm.

The driver of the Ford, 37-year-old Mikkel Schwiesow of Sonora, was taken to Adventist Health Sonora with a bloody nose and pain to his chest.

Authorities do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.

The crash is under investigation by the CHP.
