Woman Dies in Los Angeles Auto-Pedestrian Accident After Collapsing on Roadway

Los Angeles, CA. – A woman in her 30s died Thursday night after collapsing on a roadway and being struck by a car, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

The crash happened around 8 p.m. on Wilshire Boulevard near Figueroa Street.

LAPD said the woman was crossing Wilshire Boulevard when she suddenly collapsed on the roadway.

A passing 1987 Honda Civic then struck her.

The male driver stopped, called 911, and stayed at the scene.

The woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead.

Authorities said the driver showed no signs of drugs or alcohol. No arrests were made.

It was unclear if the woman was a transient or under the influence.

LAPD is investigating the accident.
