Woman Dies in 2-Car Crash in Torrance

Torrance, Calif. โ€“ An 89-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries after a two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Fresno Friday afternoon.

According to the Torrance Police Department, the deadly wreck happened at around 3:50 p.m. at Anza Avenue and Torrance Boulevard.

Authorities said a 2020 Dodge Charger operated by a 24-year-old man collided with a 2003 Toyota Echo operated by an 89-year-old woman.

The woman was given life-saving measures before being transported to a hospital, where she later died.

The Charger driver was not hurt.

Neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the accident.

During the on-scene investigation, the police closed Anza Avenue between Torrance Boulevard and Lenore Street for approximately four hours.

An investigation is ongoing.
