Westminster, CA – A rider was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 22 in Westminster Sunday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred on westbound SR-22 just west of Goldenwest Street at approximately 7:49 p.m. on May 3, 2026.
Preliminary reports indicate the crash involved a motorcycle and another vehicle. Authorities noted the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision, though the exact sequence of events remains under investigation.
The rider sustained serious injuries and was transported by paramedics to UC Irvine Medical Center for treatment. No other injuries or arrests were reported.
Emergency responders, including fire crews, arrived at the scene and provided aid before transporting the injured rider.
The crash caused a temporary shutdown of all lanes along westbound SR-22 before traffic was later reopened.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
