Warden, WA – The Washington State Patrol is investigating a deadly collision that claimed the life of a woman on Monday near Warden.

The accident happened on State Route 17 near mile post 38 on Monday, August 24.

According to the WSP report, a woman was driving a 2003 Chevy Cavalier northbound on SR 17 when she drifted across the center line and collided with a southbound 2018 Kia Sorento.

The driver of the Cavalier, identified as Jessica Detwiler, 26, was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Sorento, identified as Karol Sanchez, 21, was flown to Kadlec Medical Center for unspecified injuries.

Both vehicles sustained major damage in the collision.

Authorities do not suspect alcohol or drugs were factors in the accident. The exact circumstances of the collision remained under investigation.
