Authorities reported that a 33-year-old Oviedo man driving a 2007 Ford Edge was traveling northbound on southbound Kepler Road when he collided head-on with a southbound 2013 Honda Civic

Volusia County, FL – A 27-year-old woman from Sanford was killed in a crash with a wrong-way motorist near DeLand in Volusia County early Wednesday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the wreck took place at around 3:14 a.m. March 11, on Kepler Road near Mimosa Lane.
Authorities reported that a 33-year-old Oviedo man driving a 2007 Ford Edge was traveling northbound on southbound Kepler Road when he collided head-on with a southbound 2013 Honda Civic.
FHP reported that the Sanford woman, who was behind the wheel of the Honda, was declared dead at the scene. Her name was not immediately disclosed.
The Oviedo driver suffered minor injuries in the collision and was transferred to Halifax Health Medical Center for treatment.
It’s unclear whether DUI or speed played any role in the accident. Authorities have not released any other details on the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident to determine the contributing factors.
