Victorville, CA — A man was killed, and three other people were injured following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Air Expressway and Village Drive in Victorville late Saturday afternoon, according to the Victorville Police Department.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 5:07 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2026. Deputies from the Victorville Station, along with Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response personnel, responded to the scene.
According to investigators, a gray Jeep Cherokee was traveling eastbound on Air Expressway toward Village Drive while a red Mitsubishi Eclipse carrying two passengers was traveling westbound. The Mitsubishi turned southbound onto Village Drive and was broadsided by the Jeep on the passenger side.
David Ngy, a 47-year-old Helendale resident who was a passenger in the Mitsubishi, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jeep, the driver of the Mitsubishi, and another passenger in the Mitsubishi were transported to local hospitals for treatment. One patient requiring air transport was taken to Victor Valley Global Medical Center before being airlifted by Mercy Air to a trauma center.
Firefighters requested three ground ambulances and a medical helicopter during the initial emergency response. Members of the Major Accident Investigation Team also responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation.
The collision resulted in significant road closures. Air Expressway was closed in both directions between Shay Road and Gas Line Road, while Village Drive was closed at Rancho Road. The intersection remained closed for approximately four hours while investigators worked at the scene.
