Ventura, CA. – A bicyclist died after being struck by a car on Thursday night in Ventura.

According to the Ventura County Fire Department, the accident happened around 7:09 p.m. on Pacific Coast Highway near the Emma Wood State Beach Campground.

A blue Nissan struck multiple cyclists.

One bicyclist was killed in the accident.

Another was transported in critical condition. A third cyclist was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Authorities shut down PCH between Faria and Solimar as the scene was cleared.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
