Vancouver, WA – Man in Wheelchair Fatally Hit by Pickup Truck at South Andresen Rd and MacArthur Blvd

Vancouver, WA – A 74-year-old man died after he was hit by a pickup truck Tuesday evening at an intersection in Vancouver.

According to the Vancouver Police Department, the accident was reported around 7:45 p.m. on August 18, 2026, at South Andresen Road and MacArthur Boulevard.

Investigators established that the driver of a pickup truck had stopped at the stop sign on westbound MacArthur Boulevard, then proceeded through the intersection when he struck a man in a wheelchair who had entered the crosswalk.

Paramedics took the 74-year-old pedestrian to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
