Coroner's Bureau Releases Name of Woman Hit and Killed by Car in Alameda

Alameda, CA. – 59-year-old Karen Conway was the woman who was hit and killed by a car while crossing a street in Alameda, the Alameda County Coroner's Bureau reported.

The Alameda resident was involved in the accident around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway and Coral Sea Street.

According to Alameda police, Conway was crossing Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway in a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a car turning westbound onto the parkway.

Conway was rushed to the hospital for treatment but later died.

The 70-year-old Alameda man driving the vehicle stopped and cooperated with investigators.
