Compton, CA. – 62-year-old Mary Cuevas died in a two-vehicle collision that happened early Monday morning on the Artesia (91) Freeway in Compton, the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner reported.
The collision occurred around 12:08 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near the Alameda Street off-ramp.
Two vehicles collided, causing one of them to veer off the roadway and overturn onto its roof, trapping several people inside.
The Compton Fire Department responded to the scene and freed the victims.
Cuevas was pronounced dead at the scene.
