Justin Palomino Critically Injured in Redding Bicycle Crash

, CA. – 41-year-old Justin Palomino of Redding was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while riding a in the city, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 11:54 a.m. Tuesday on Hartnell Avenue south of Cypress Avenue.

According to the Redding Police Department, Palomino was illegally riding a bicycle westbound on Hartnell Avenue through stopped traffic when he was hit by a car driven southbound on Hartnell Avenue by 44-year-old Kao Saechao of Redding, who had just made a right turn from eastbound Cypress Avenue.

Palomino suffered critical injuries. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Another bicycle accident that sent the rider to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries was reported on 1951 Hartnell Avenue, a few miles south of the scene of the first collision, just a day after the initial accident.

Redding, CA. – A bicyclist was critically injured after being struck by a car at an intersection in Redding on Tuesday afternoon.

The bicycle accident occurred in the area of Hartnell and Cypress Avenues at around noon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A bicyclist was struck by a car, but it was unclear what caused the collision.

The cyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Medical in critical condition.

The car driver was unhurt.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
