Bakersfield, CA – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified a bicyclist killed in a Friday evening crash on Edison Highway in Bakersfield as 68-year-old Anthony Sanchez of Bakersfield.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the accident occurred at around 6:51 p.m. in the 2400 block of Edison Highway, east of Mount Vernon Avenue.

It was unclear why a black Chevrolet pick-up truck crashed into a bicycle.

Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
