Long Beach, CA. – The 69-year-old man who was killed Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash on the northbound (405) Freeway near the 710 interchange was identified as Mark Cassidy, according to authorities.

The California Highway Patrol said the collision occurred around 7:20 a.m., involving two cars of unknown make and model.

Paramedics with the Long Beach Fire Department performed first aid measures to the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:51 a.m.

A SigAlert was issued, closing multiple lanes until about 11:10 a.m.

Long Beach, CA. – One person died in a traffic collision that happened Friday morning on a freeway in Long Beach, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The wreck occurred around 7:20 a.m. on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway at the Long Beach (710) Freeway.

Two vehicles were involved in the accident.

Long Beach firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and provided life-saving measures to one person, but the victim died at the scene.

No details were available about whether there was any other person who sustained injuries.

A SigAlert was issued at 7:56 a.m., closing the HOV lane and the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes.
