Apple Valley, CA – The man who was killed on Saturday in a two-vehicle collision in Apple Valley has been identified as Ulises Dominguez, 44, of Apple Valley, California, according to police.
The fatal collision occurred at around 11:36 p.m. on September 20, near Kiowa Road and Kiowa Place.
According to investigators, a white Nissan Altima driven by Exon Herrera Hernandez, 23, of Apple Valley, was traveling northbound on Kiowa Road when it rear-ended a white Hummer H2 operated by Dominguez.
The impact caused the Hummer to leave the roadway and overturn.
Authorities said Dominguez and his passenger, Salvador Rubio Tamayo,22, of Victorville, suffered serious injuries and were transported to a hospital by an ambulance.
Dominguez later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital while Tamayo remained in stable condition.
Investigators determined that Hernandez was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
Kiowa Road was closed for about seven hours to facilitate on-scene investigations.
