The motorcycle rider was seriously injured and required transportation to a hospital.
Tulare County, CA – A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries Friday afternoon after a motorcycle collided with a Chevrolet Cruze on State Route 137 near Visalia, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at approximately 4:59 p.m. on eastbound SR-137, about one mile east of Road 168.
The CHP incident log identified the vehicles involved as a cream-colored Chevrolet Cruze and a motorcycle. The rider became trapped underneath a vehicle following the collision and was reported to have major injuries.
The motorcycle rider was seriously injured and required transportation to a hospital. Firefighters attempted to land a helicopter near Road 180 and Road 168 to transport the rider.
An anonymous caller later reported that dust created by tractors on SR-137 near Road 152 may have contributed to the collision. CHP had not confirmed whether the dust was a factor.
Both lanes of SR-137 were temporarily closed for approximately a quarter-mile near the crash scene while emergency crews worked to clear the roadway. The road was reopened at approximately 6:24 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
