Visalia, CA – A man riding a tricycle died after being rear-ended by a pickup truck early Tuesday morning in rural Tulare County, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The accident occurred on July 21 on Avenue 120, southeast of Visalia.

According to authorities, the man was riding a tricycle west within the traffic lane during dark hours when he was rear-ended by a pickup truck. The tricycle had no safety or reflective equipment, authorities reported.

The tricycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. He is believed to be in his 50s.

The pickup truck driver was not hurt and cooperated with investigators.
