Tracy, CA – Several people were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on Tuesday afternoon near Tracy, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, on State Route 132 just west of State Route 33.
CHP logs indicate the crash involved five vehicles and one semi-truck. Initial reports stated that a white Honda Civic collided with three other vehicles and a semi-truck. A fifth vehicle was also involved.
Emergency responders from the Stockton Fire Department arrived at the scene and transported all injured parties to hospitals. The extent of their injuries has not been released.
Due to the severity of the crash, authorities issued a SigAlert, closing both directions of State Route 132 while crews cleared the damaged vehicles and investigated the collision. Tow trucks were called to remove multiple disabled vehicles, including heavy-duty equipment for the semi-truck.
By about 4:58 p.m., the eastbound lanes had reopened, with westbound lanes expected to reopen approximately 10 minutes later.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
