The Acura driver sustained major injuries and was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs

Thermal, CA. – Pablo Garcia Lopez, 26, has been identified as the man who died in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday morning in Thermal.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 5 a.m. in the area of Avenue 58 and Buchanan Street.
A 2017 Acura RDX was traveling eastbound on Avenue 58 when it failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into a 2009 Toyota Camry, which was traveling northbound on Buchanan.
The impact caused both vehicles to overturn.
Lopez, a resident of Mecca, was driving the Toyota and was pronounced dead at the scene.
