Teodosia Velasco Hernandez Killed in Bakersfield Crash on South Lake Road near Gardner Field Road
Bakersfield, California (March 29, 2022) – A woman who was killed in a head-on collision on Monday afternoon in Bakersfield has been identified as 32-year-old Teodosia Velasco Hernandez, of Taft.
The fatal accident occurred at about 12:20 p.m., on March 28, on South Lake Road, north of Gardner Field Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2012 Acura was headed northbound on Lake Road when it made an unsafe turn to the left into the path of a 2002 Chevrolet that was traveling southbound on Lake Road. Unfortunately, the two vehicles collided head-on.

Sadly, Hernandez who was the driver of the Acura was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the Acura and the driver of the Chevrolet sustained major injuries and were taken to Kern Medical for treatment.
It was not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
