Stockton, CA – 3 People Hospitalized after 8-Vehicle Collision on Interstate 5

Stockton, CA – Three people were sent to the hospital after a multi-vehicle collision that also left a big rig overturned Thursday afternoon in Stockton, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The pileup took place around 5:15 p.m. on September 17, 2026, on northbound Interstate 5 near March Lane.

According to CHP, eight vehicles, including a big rig hauling watermelons, were involved in the accident. The big rig overturned, blocking the Nos. 3, 4, and 5 lanes.

One person sustained serious injuries, and two others suffered minor injuries in the crash. The patients were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Traffic on northbound I-5 was heavily impacted due to lane closures.
