Spokane, WA – A vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian on Division Street in Spokane on Wednesday evening, the Spokane Police Department reported.

At around 6 p.m. February 18, authorities responded to reports of an auto-pedestrian collision near the intersection of West Cascade Way.

At the scene, the SPD located the involved pedestrian, vehicle and the driver. The circumstances under which the vehicle hit the pedestrian were not yet established.

Police reported that the pedestrian was killed in the accident. It’s unclear whether the victim died at the scene or after being taken to hospital.

The pedestrian’s name, age, and gender were not immediately disclosed. The involved driver, who remained at the scene, was also unidentified.

The roadway was temporarily shut down while investigators gathered more information at the scene.

At this time, no further details have been released. The Spokane Police Department continues to investigate to determine what led up to the deadly accident.
