Sonora, CA – One person was killed in a collision involving two vehicles on Thursday afternoon in Sonora, according to the California Highway Patrol.

According to the investigators, two vehicles collided head-on on the highway near the intersection. The exact circumstances under which the vehicles crashed were not immediately established.
The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, CAL FIRE, and the emergency medical services responded to the site of the collision.
According to the CHP, one person succumbed to their injuries as a result of the accident. The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
