Newhall, CA.- A 14-year-old died days after being involved in a head-on collision in Newhall earlier this month, according to the L.A. County Medical Examiner's Office.
The wreck happened on Railroad Avenue and Market Street at about 7:05 p.m. January 5.
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station reported that Shayne Thompson of Canyon Country was riding a dirt bike motorcycle northbound on southbound Railroad Avenue when he collided head-on with an oncoming van.
Thompson was ejected from the motorcycle and was then hit by a second vehicle.
He was rushed to Henry Mayo Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased the morning of January 5.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
