The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital by air ambulance and later died from his injuries.

Santa Cruz, CA – A motorcyclist was killed in a motorcycle accident in Santa Cruz County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 4:45 p.m. on Empire Grade north of Heller Drive, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.

A 21-year-old man from Pescadero was riding a 1999 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Empire Grade when he collided with a 2025 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck towing a flatbed trailer south on Empire Grade.

The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital by air ambulance and later died from his injuries.

The driver of the car was unhurt.

Police said the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet and the Dodge driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

More details about the accident were not released.

CHP is investigating the accident.
