Santa Barbara County, CA – Three people were injured in a solo crash on Highway 101 in Santa Barbara County on Saturday morning, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
The fiery collision was reported at about 10:20 a.m. January 3, on the highway north of Highway 154.
According to the report, a car was traveling southbound on Highway 101 when it swerved onto the shoulder and crashed into a tree. The car caught fire and was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
The SBCFD extricated three people from the car. They were transported by AMR crews to Marian Regional Medical Center.
One of the patients was hospitalized in critical condition while the other two were treated for moderate injuries.
It's unclear what caused the driver to drift off the roadway. Authorities are conducting an investigation into the collision.
