Santa Ana, CA – A 72-year-old pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle Monday morning on Main Street in Santa Ana.
The collision occurred at about 6:27 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2026, in the area of Main Street and Cubbon Street, Santa Ana Police Department.
The pedestrian, identified as 72-year-old Sarinana Gaytan Rutilia of Santa Ana, was walking westbound across Main Street when she was struck by a southbound vehicle, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
Officers and Orange County Fire Authority personnel provided medical aid at the scene, but Sarinana succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The driver did not appear to be impaired.
The Santa Ana Police Department’s Collision Investigation Unit is investigating the crash.
