Preliminary reports indicate that a woman was attempting to walk across the street whe she was hit by a passing vehicle
Santa Ana, CA – An elderly pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle at a residential neighborhood in Santa Ana on Wednesday morning.
According to a report by the Santa Ana Police Department, the incident happened at around 7:10 a.m. on June 10, near Keller Avenue and Marine Street.
Preliminary reports indicate that a woman was attempting to walk across the street whe she was hit by a passing vehicle. It’s unclear whether the woman was in a crosswalk when the incident occurred.
The victim was rushed to a hospital with major injuries and was declared deceased on Thursday. Authorities identified the victim as Sara Torres, 78, of Santa Ana.
The driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene and was cooperative with law enforcement. Impairment was not believed to have played any role in the accident.
