San Ysidro, CA – A pedestrian, identified as Eduardo Sanchez, 83, was killed after being struck by an SUV while crossing a street in San Ysidro on Saturday evening, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:06 p.m. on November 29, 2025, in the 200 block of East San Ysidro Boulevard. Emergency crews responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call reporting a pedestrian down in the roadway following a collision with an SUV.

Witness accounts and preliminary reports indicate that Sanchez had been walking across the street when the SUV, traveling along East San Ysidro Boulevard, struck him. The incident involved only one vehicle, described as an SUV, and the pedestrian.

After the collision, paramedics arrived promptly and provided medical assistance before transporting Sanchez to UCSD Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead at 6:50 p.m. on November 30, 2025.

The cause of death was determined to be multiple blunt force injuries. No additional injuries or fatalities were reported.

Authorities, including the San Diego Police Department, responded to the scene and immediately began investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. At this time, no arrests have been reported, and officials have not indicated whether impairment or speed played a role. The case remains under active investigation.
