San Mateo, CA. – At least one person was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon in a traffic collision involving multiple vehicles on northbound U.S. 101 in San Mateo, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at approximately 1:55 p.m. Tuesday on northbound US 101 just south of State Route 92.
According to the CHP incident log, the collision involved two pickup trucks and an SUV of unknown color.
At least one person was transported from the scene with major injuries. No information about the victim’s identity or specific injuries was released.
CHP officers and emergency personnel responded to the scene. A tow service was requested to remove one or more vehicles involved in the crash.
The collision blocked the No. 5 and No. 6 lanes of northbound US 101. CHP issued a SigAlert because of the crash and resulting traffic delays. All lanes were reopened by approximately 3:26 p.m., and the SigAlert was canceled shortly afterward.
The investigation into the San Mateo crash remains ongoing.
