San Jose, CA – Several people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on State Route 87 in San Jose on Sunday night.

Initial reports indicate that seven vehicles were involved in three separate collisions on the southbound side of SR 87. Details on what led up to the crashes were not immediately established.
Emergency crews assessed the involved individuals and determined that there were injuries. Several patients were transported to hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.
The southbound lanes of SR 87 were temporarily shut down while authorities examined and cleared the scene.
According to the CHP, alcohol and drugs were not believed to have factored in the accident.
The cause of the incident remained under investigation and further details are expected to be released.
