San Jose, CA – A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle near a San Jose intersection on Wednesday evening, according to a report by the San Jose Police Department.

The collision occurred in the area of Monterey Road and Ford Road just before 7:40 p.m. on July 1.

Preliminary reports indicate that a person was struck by a vehicle traveling through the intersection. The circumstances under which the incident happened were yet to be established by the authorities.

San Jose police and emergency personnel arrived at the scene within minutes and found the victim lying in the roadway.

The pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene. The victim’s name, age, or gender were not immediately released.

The driver of the involved vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

The northbound side of Monterey Road was shut down at Ford Road while authorities worked at the scene.
