San Dimas, CA – A bicyclist was killed in a collision with a vehicle on San Dimas Avenue in San Dimas Avenue on Friday night, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The wreck happened at about 6:30 p.m. January 9, near East Baseline Road.

According to a preliminary investigation, a man was riding a bicycle across San Dimas Avenue when he was hit by a gray pickup truck traveling in the northbound lanes.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s San Dimas Station and firefighters responded to the incident and found the ejected bicyclist with major injuries.

The rider was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The man’s identity was not released pending notification of the next-of-kin.

The truck driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigations. The pickup sustained major damage to its hood.

Further details including the cause of the collision were not released. Authorities are working to determine the cause of the crash.
