Pregnant Woman Among 3 Injured after San Diego Crash on 28th Street and Imperial Avenue
San Diego, California (December 6, 2021) – A pregnant teenager was hospitalized in critical condition after a traffic accident in the Grant Hill neighborhood in San Diego on Sunday afternoon, according to San Diego police.
The crash occurred at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday, December 5, in the area of 28th Street and Imperial Avenue.
Police said a 2005 Honda Civic was traveling in the area when the driver allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and slammed into the side of a 2006 Chevy 1500 pickup.
A pregnant 18-year-old woman, who was a passenger of the Honda, became unconscious after the crash and did not regain consciousness at the crash site. She was taken to a hospital, where she was listed in critical condition and placed on life support.
The Honda driver was taken to the hospital with complaint of chest pain. The driver of the Chevy complained of shoulder pain.
Further details about the crash were not immediately available.
The collision remains under investigation.
