San Diego, CA – A man was hospitalized with serious injuries after being hit by a truck while riding on an e-bike in San Diego on Friday afternoon.
According to a report by the San Diego Police Department, the accident took place on Balboa Avenue on Friday, June 19.
The report indicates that a 23-year-old man was riding a Troxus Lynx E-Bicycle west on Balboa Avenue in the left turn lane when he tried to turn left.
The rider, however, was hit on his right side by a 2024 Ford Lightning truck that had been going east on Balboa Avenue.
SDPD officers and emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly after and located the involved parties.
The rider was rushed to a hospital with multiple injuries including a collapsed lung, broken ribs, and a stretched vestibular artery.
The driver of the truck was cooperative with law enforcement and no arrests were made. According to SDPD, impairment was not suspected to have factored in the accident.
An investigation into the collision is being handled by the San Diego Police Department Traffic Division.
