San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Sergeant in Unmarked Charger Injured in DUI Crash

Victorville, California (February 1, 2023) – 26-year-old Jonathan Hiromoto was arrested after causing a crash that left a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Sergeant injured last week in Victorville, as per a local news source.

The incident happened Friday, January 27, at around 10:08 p.m. near Amargosa Road and Palmdale Road.

Police said a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Sergeant was driving an unmarked Dodge Charger near the intersection when Hiromoto, who was driving a GMC Yukon, failed to stop at the westbound red stoplight. Hiromoto crashed into the Charger and a Chevy Tahoe driven by an adult female.

The Sheriff’s Sergeant was hospitalized for unspecified injuries and later released to recover at home. The driver of the Tahoe did not need medical attention.

The Charger was towed away with major crash damage, and the Tahoe with minor damage.

Authorities said Hiromoto showed obvious signs of intoxication and was uncooperative when deputies attempted a field sobriety test. He was arrested and booked into High Desert Detention Center for felony DUI causing bodily injury.
