San Antonio, TX – Authorities are investigating a wrong-way accident that left two people injured early Sunday morning in San Antonio.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, the accident was reported at about 3:17 a.m. March 8, on the southbound Interstate 37 off-ramp to U.S. Highway 181.
A preliminary investigation determined that a driver was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the ramp when they got into a collision with a second vehicle. It’s still unclear why the driver was traveling the wrong way on the ramp.
San Antonio police and EMS crews responded to the incident and helped the involved parties.
The driver of the wrong-way vehicle was transported by medics to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The other driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The identities of the involved drivers were not released by the authorities.
