San Andreas, CA – Cody James Wise, 22, of Valley Springs, was airlifted after being involved in a car accident in San Andreas early Sunday morning, according to the authorities.
Shortly after midnight on December 28, authorities responded to reports of a single-vehicle accident on Baldwin Street, south of Usher Drive.
The California Highway Patrol reported that Wise was driving a 1998 Ford Ranger at an unspecified speed when he lost control and swerved off the side of the road. The Ford crashed into a dirt embankment and hit a tree.
Wise sustained major injuries and was flown to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
The CHP said DUI was suspected to have played a role in the crash. Wise was arrested on suspicion of DUI following the accident.
The crash is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
